Activities with Your Kids During Quarantine
Hundreds of businesses are now switching to teleworking, and with nationwide school closures, vast parts of many countries are in lockdown due to the spread of the novel Coronavirus. Younger Kids Activities
Indoor safari is where you make a small indoor safari with plants, paper cutouts, stuffed animals, or anything else to send our kids in an imaginary jungle. You will talk to your kids what you smell, see, hear, and touch.
Reasonable snack time is when you eat different kinds of snacks and talk about the colors, flavors, smells, and textures that both of you are experiencing.
Teenagers Activities
Mystery Songs is an activity in which you choose a random song on Spotify, Apple Music, or YouTube that your kids have listened to before. Without searching for the lyrics, the artist, and judging the song title or genre, just observing and listening to the song together, some feelings will come to you as you are looking.
Gratitude Journal is another activity for teenagers to quietly write and reflect on ten different kinds of things that they are grateful for then come together to discuss their reflections.
The word game is mentioning a word that feels relaxing to them, such as “tranquility” or “peace.” Think of the word to yourself with your eyes closed while slowly breathing in and out. Keep thinking and relaxing for as long as you can.
Self-Care
It is also equally important to take care of yourself, aside from taking care of our home, families, and jobs. Teaching our kids awareness and mindfulness activities can help us engage in open and active communication and bonding.
